Just returned, Sunday visit- heading back from Shepton Mallet- we decided to return to the Holcombe Inn for some lunch- we hadn’t booked a table, but on arrival nothing was any bother… Beer selection was 10/10 Otter on tap! My fav…. A lovely choice of spirits on the bar. You get the feeling of pride when you walk into this establishment- high local quality on food and drinks with a personal twist on everything. We had the Duck and Beef for mains, Duck was exactly how you’d want it, home cooked to perfection, the Ju’ blackcurrants and purple cabbage with raisins was a great a compliment. Dessert - homegrown Rhubarb in the trifle was amazing! Finished with freeze dried mint, violas and rosss from the garden complimented on the top. For me eating out is 60% about the atmosphere , staff and service with the experience! Attention to detail is clear here- even the toilets , Noble Isle! My fav and very high quality UK sourced products Chef came over to say hello a few times and engaged in conversation. It’s our 3rd time here and won’t be the last! Amazing and highly recommend.

We had a gorgeous last-minute stay at The Holcombe. Alan and Caroline couldn't have been more welcoming or attentive. Rooms are stunning, food is absolutely delicious, and there are thoughtful touches everywhere. If you're lucky, you might get to meet their lovely dog, Truffle!

We recently had our wedding at The Holcombe Inn, and we honestly can’t say enough good things about it. From start to finish, the experience was flawless, and that’s all down to Caroline and Alan. Their patience, support, and organisation throughout the entire planning process were second to none. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they took care of absolutely everything with such calm professionalism that we were able to fully relax and enjoy the build-up and the big day itself. And the food – wow. Hands down the best food we’ve ever eaten, and we weren’t the only ones who thought so. We lost count of how many guests told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had – people are already planning return visits just to eat there again! Every course was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and served with care. The venue itself is stunning – a perfect mix of elegance and warmth. The setting made for incredible photos, and every space, from the beautifully decorated restaurant to the charming bedrooms, felt special and inviting. Choosing The Holcombe Inn was one of the best decisions we made. They didn’t just host our wedding – they made it perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Our party of four were on a return visit after seven months’ absence, and it was every bit as superb as we remembered. We are not local, but the draw to Somerset was in no small part due to this wonderful country inn hotel. The food was excellent, a real credit to chef Alan, and the whole experience was made all the more enjoyable by Caroline’s warm and polished front-of-house welcome. Having eaten the length and breadth of the UK and indeed in many places around the world we can honestly say the food here stands comparison with the very best. A truly memorable place that continues to deliver well worth the journey and highly recommended.

Saturday lunch with family. Gorgeous setting. Pub is beautifully decorated and clean. Great service. Food very good quality and well priced. The pub has its own kitchen garden so you get a lot of their own veg plus they make their own ice cream, cheese etc. Very special. Not enough pubs have high standards to match their prices but this one delivers. Highly recommended. Also lots of local footpaths for a walk before/after. There is a bar, snug and restaurant area depending on your preference. Accessible toilet and baby change too.

Such a lovely place, the food was incredible and so much homegrown which added such a personal touch. We stayed in one of the lodges too, amazing bath & super comfortable beds. Our room had its own wood burner as well, which added another lovely touch. Nice walks directly from the hotel, well worth getting out before an excellent breakfast.

My partner and I had a magical experience. It was the first time away since having our baby. It's our second time going to the Holcombe and we most certainly will be back. The rooms have a lot of character and our room has a free standing bath looking out to the fields very nice indeed. We had a delicious dinner with lots of the holcombe home grown produce and tried good ranges of different wines by the glass. In the morning, after a very good nights sleep, we had a spectacular breakfast including homemade granola, homemade marmalade and jam, croissants and a very good quality cooked English breakfast! The holcombe is surrounded by beautiful countryside so it's the perfect place to combine with a walk! Caroline and Alan are very friendly and relaxed and went out of their way to ensure we had the best time. Very special place would 100% recommend coming here to stay and for dinner!
